SSAFA Event Volunteer - Hatfield Park Battle Proms - 18th July 2026

Join SSAFA as an Event Volunteer at one of the UK’s most spectacular outdoor summer concerts! As the UK’s longest running picnic proms series, Battle Proms delivers a true British celebration!

Including a two hour orchestral programme with all the Last Night of the Proms favourites, thrilling cavalry and parachute displays, the roar of a Spitfire overhead, and a dramatic firework and cannon finale set to Beethoven’s Battle Symphony.

As a volunteer, once you’ve finished supporting the SSAFA events team, you’ll be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the concert.

Timings

Volunteering runs from 15:00-19:00. Once your shift ends at 19:00 and the concert begins, you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the show or head home. The event finishes at 22:30.

What you'll be doing

• Ticket scanning at the entrance • Car Park and queue stewarding • Supervising concert pavilion • Bucket collecting and selling raffle tickets • Promoting SSAFA • You can then enjoy the concert

Travel

Free parking for volunteers and the nearest train station is: Hatfield railway station. This is located directly opposite the pedestrian entrance to Hatfield Park. It’s only a short walk (about 7 minutes) to the entrance.

Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse expenses for event volunteers, but we are incredibly grateful for the time and support you give. To thank you for your incredible support we are pleased to be able to offer a 20% discount on Battle Proms tickets for family and friends of our brilliant volunteers.

What to Bring

• SSAFA red t shirt (provided if needed) • Comfy shoes • Weather ready clothing • Reusable water bottle • A picnic if you’d like one.
