Opportunity image

Our network of branch volunteers brings a mix of diverse skills and community connections that significantly contribute to SSAFA’s ability to make a meaningful difference to the lives of serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need.

The branch treasurer role:

Each branch has a treasurer who oversees all aspects of financial activity within the branch accounts and provides financial reports as specified by SSAFA.

This flexible role involves using our on-line financial management system and on-line bank accounts, so can be done when and where suits you best. You will need to attend a number of branch committee meetings each year.

You will be supported by a branch chair and branch secretary in the running of the branch to create a welcoming experience to volunteers who live and work in your branch community. And ensuring the financial integrity of the branch. The role would suit someone looking to offer a regular time commitment of about one day each week.

Requirements:

Access to public transport or a car to travel to meetings would be desirable but not a necessity. You will need access to IT equipment such as a laptop and the internet to carry out branch administration.

Support:

• You will have full support from the branch Chair, branch secretary, the community engagement co-ordinator and the rest of the team at SSAFA. • On-line training and in-person training modules. With access to a range of e-learning courses as well as local opportunities to keep your training up to date. • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses
